My Math Casts!

MathCast1 Here
MathCast2 Here
Math Cast3 Here
HOW TO MAKE A MATH CAST:
1. In order to make a math cast, you need the sceenr website and painter.
2. You need to know the problem that you are going to do very well.
3. You open up painter and the screenr website and record your math cast.
4. When your done and happy with the results of the Math Cast, you can post it to edmodo!

I liked the math casts because it helped me to learn the problems that I was doing, but I dont see how they are very useful.

Brianna Jenkins Chapter 10 Vocabulary continued...

Geometric Sequence- In mathematics, a geometric progression, also known as a geometric sequence, is a sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous one by a fixed non-zero number called the common ratio. For example, the sequence 2, 6, 18, 54,

Parabola-A symmetrical open plane curve formed by the intersection of a cone with a plane parallel to its side. The path of a projectile under the influence of gravity follows a curve of this shape.

Quadratic Formula- The formula in the form for finding roots of the quadratic formula.

roots- square roots

vertex-the highest point.

zeros- the integer between -1 and positive +1

Brianna Jenkins Chapter 10 Vocabulary

Axis of Symmetry- A line through a shape so that each side is a mirror image. If the shape were folded in a half along the axis of symmetry, then the two halves would be the same, they would match up.

Discriminant-  Is the name given to the expression that appears under the square root (radical) sign in the quadratic formula.

Exponential Decay- a decrease that follows an exponential function.
Exponential Growth- Growth whose rate becomes ever more rapid in proportion to the growing total number or size.

Real World Parabolas

My Parabola is La Pedrera Parabola.
It was designed by Antoni Gaudi. It was built in 1905 and finished in 1910. It is also known as the Casa Mila.

8th Grade Algebra Bloqg Assignment 4

I created a form asking the following questions:
1) How many computers do you have in you home?
2) How many computers do you have?

Then I made I waited for the responses and made a chart of the data that collected.
Next I made a scatter plot using the data and paper (I didn't have graph paper)

Then I drew a line of best fit on my graph.

I picked 2 points on the line and found the slope and y-intercept and wrote the slope intercept question that best fit my problem.
