8th Grade Algebra Bloqg Assignment 4

I created a form asking the following questions:
1) How many computers do you have in you home?
2) How many computers do you have?

Then I made I waited for the responses and made a chart of the data that collected.
Next I made a scatter plot using the data and paper (I didn't have graph paper)

Then I drew a line of best fit on my graph.

I picked 2 points on the line and found the slope and y-intercept and wrote the slope intercept question that best fit my problem.

1st Trimester Refections

This year I am proud of myself for asking for help when I needed it. I wish that I had done better on the tests. Algebra has been a challenge for me this year. For example, cross multipling and equations with fractions. I feel that I have mastered labeling points on a graph. For the secong trimester I want to do better on quizes and tests.

My Service Learning

For service learning, the Matrin Koninia goes to a place called Birthday Blessings. Birthday Blessings hellps kids that are homeless and can not afford to have birthady parties, so Birthday Blessing provides that birthaday party for the kids. Math relates to my service learning project because we have to wrap a certain amount of presents in a certain amout of time, so we have to figure out how many prents we have to wrap a minute. For example, if we have 60 minutes and 20 presents to wrap, so we have to wrap 3 presents every minute.

Adding and Subtracting Integers

For question a) you would do 8-5 and because it's a positive plus a negitive, the answer would be -3. For question b) I did 10-4 and for the answer I got a positive 6. Question c) i did 4 minus 9 and i got -5. Question d) I did 9-8 and got 1 so the answer is -1 because a negative - a negative = a positive. Web 2.0 tools

So far we've used google ddocs for homework and for vocabulary. Google docs are different than word docs because if you want to, you can let the whole world see a google doc. The name of our google group is TESAlgebraOrange, the link is http://groups.google.com/group/tesalgebraorange?hl=en Notes homework and diccussions will be found there. Twiducate is a twitter for education and kids. So far on twiducate i posted things about myself. Twiducate kind of loads really slow, but i can still manage using it. I used DoppleMe to make an avatar and i wouldnt reccomend this site to a friend because it's not that fun. My vocab:http://bit.ly/aikmrx
